Eligibility — For Companies (Sdn Bhd / LLP / Enterprise)
- Company less than 5 years old from incorporation date
- Accumulated revenue below RM3 million
- At least 51% Malaysian ownership (if <51%, majority of employees must be Malaysian)
- No other entity holds 25% or more of shares
- Company must own the IP rights to the product
- No paid-up capital requirement
Eligibility — For Individuals (Pre-Incorporation)
- Minimum 2 people in a team
- At least 1 team member must be Malaysian
- At least 1 team member must reside in Malaysia
Application Process
- 1Register on GMS — Create account at gms.cradle.com.my
- 2Prepare pitch deck — Use Cradle's template (provided on the platform)
- 3Submit online — Upload pitch deck and basic information
- 4Shortlisting — Cradle reviews and shortlists applications
- 5Submit verification documents — Only required after shortlisting (not upfront)
- 6Pitch session — Closed session (not public). Present to Cradle's evaluation panel.
- 7Approval — Estimated 2–4 months from pitching to approval (with complete docs)
- 8Sign funding agreement — Terms include milestone deliverables and repayment conditions
- 9Receive first advance — Milestone-based disbursement begins
- 10Deliver MVP/prototype — Required deliverable by project end
- 11Submit demo + development reports — Progress reports throughout funding period

Common Pitfalls
- IP ownership unclear — If your product uses open-source code or university IP, clarify ownership before applying.
- Revenue threshold — If your company has accumulated >RM3M revenue, you are ineligible for Spark. Consider CIP Sprint (up to RM500K) instead.
- Shareholding structure — No other entity can hold 25%+ of your shares.
- Conditional grant — This is NOT free money. If you breach terms or terminate early, you must repay.
- Milestone pressure — Funds are released per milestone. Miss milestones = withheld payments.
